What Is Writing for Wellness?
The Global Wellness Institute defines wellness as "the active pursuit of activities, choices, and lifestyles that lead to a state of holistic health." The pursuit of wellness is all about the process. Learning to acknowledge, embrace, explore and experience the process in its fullness boosts creativity and productivity.
The process of writing has mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social benefits. A writer's work might make readers feel good but the process of writing should make the writer feel good as well. I help women explore and embrace the process of writing using a writing for wellness approach. While writing, my clients learn to lean into the wellness process, too.
Through courses, workshops, books, and events, we learn how to implement daily practices that improve their well-BEing and well-DOing. The goal is to explore holistic creativity and experience purposeful productivity through writing.
